Welcome to the New Australians blog!

If you want to read more about the experiences of recent migrants to Australia, you've come to the right place. According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics, almost 1 in 3 Australians alive today was born overseas. This blog features both fiction and nonfiction books that consider the diversity of these Australians, their families, experiences, backgrounds and cultures, and the communities in which they build their lives anew.

The titles highlighted here are sourced from the Novelist Plus database (which you can access from the Lane Cove Library's eResources page using your library card) and make reference to other sites including publishers' websites, YouTube and Goodreads. 

Most of the titles listed on this blog are available at Lane Cove Library; those which are not can be requested for interlibrary loan.

The Home page lists all the books featured on the blog. You can scroll through the listings to find to find recommendations, search for a particular title using the search bar on the right, or select a tag from the tag cloud.
